Care Instructions
--> Do not place accessories near aerosol sprays to avoid tarnishing of rhodium hooks & chains (we all know how metals like your rhodium hooks are reactive when chemically bond right?:p)
This won't be much of a problem if yours is made of 925 silver hooks, 925 silver chains, 14k Gold plated hooks or 14k gold plated chains. These are one of the best quality but of course, they're expensive and of a higher price too.
--> Do not bathe with your accessories or wash them. This is common sense :P water and accessories are a no-no. Do not ignore my caveat! I had a customer who bathed with her accessories and the colour of copper ran.
--> Do not leave your accessories in the open air with the air con. Can't be helped, the air in singapore is rather moist and again, it MAY tarnish chains that are not made of 925 silver or 14k Gold Plated ones !
--> My parting words? I'd STRONGLY advise customers to request for 925 silver or 14k Gold Plated materials because they are much more long-lasting and they ensure that you won't break out in rashes if you have very sensitive skin:)

A lady who indulges in making her own jewelry, a chica who loves art and anything pretty, quirky and whimsical, a girl whose jewelry is a tangible representation of her love for life, one who is inspired by sights, travels, poetry and people around her.
When did the love affair start?
Why are your prices higher than 3 for $10?
Do you do customizations and remakes?
Is this your full time job?
Designer’s Ethics
I started making my first pair of earrings in February 2007. Practice makes perfect!
I regularly source and import my materials from overseas ie. the US, West Germany, Hong Kong & Japan.
I use 14 K gold plated chains (which means highly resistant to tarnish) , 925 silver chains(will b stated when used), semi-precious stones in some designs and Swarovski crystals (no plasticky ones for me). There are also a lot of silent overhead costs: coming up with the designs,labour costs,overseas shipping costs,transportation to get supplies,maintaining the website,time spent liasing with overseas supplies.It's not as easy-breezy as you think:P
I welcome customizations of any kind :) and I’ve done a handful of them for different people and on different occasions!
I don’t do much remakes because some materials are rare and imported.
Also, I try to make my designs as unique as possible to ensure the exclusiveness of the buyer. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to see four other girls on campus alone wearing the same accessory as you!
No, not at the moment at least. Am reading my Political Science degree currently. I’m also looking at placing my items at some retail shops but the plans are still underway.

An ocean of faceted Emerald swarovski crystals and white Japanese pearls. A mermaid comes swimming by, her face tilted upwards, look how she yearns for the sparkle of human jewel enclosed in a hoop. No remakes. Still available at SGD $ 25.00 |

This one-off design necklace doubles up as a brooch as well. Audrey Hepburn in a vintage frame, image is protected by a convex shaped glass-like layer. A rose motif choped on an Anna Sui-inspired mirror and a shoe charm dangles amidst tangled chains and mint-coloured swarovski crystals. Brooch is connected to the necklaced with a vintage rose clasp. Vanity is not a vice. |

Summer is here. But it isn't all about blue skies and pink flowers. Black butterflies add a touch of noir to this pretty pair of swarvoski crystals and pearls that cascades down. Beauty has a dark side. |

2 years ago, I did a simpler version of this - without the shell flowers and with tiny silver Japan-imported leaves for a friend, Eugene. Of late,have been experimenting with repurposing -dismantling bits & pieces to recreate 'em into another jewelry mosaic:) Am much pleased. I repurposed the white shell flowers i bought when I was overseas (they have mini crystals in the centre) and recreated them into a piece that spells serenity. Trails of mini odd-shaped freshwater pearls repurposed from earrings I bought from an overseas flea, lavender glass drops and Swarovski opal drops (Opal is the birthstone of October).925 sterling silver chain.
All hand-wired. This is the last of this particular style of imported white shell flowers. I have a mini version of it in studs form!

Some of a woman's most chic functional accessory is a fan. A symbol of coyness, regality and feminity all rolled into one. The Shanghai high society uses this, Victorian ladies parade along the streets with this. This bracelet is handmade, i knotted it with a chain to give an 'edgy' feel. Vintage fan (double-sided designs) and flower are both imported fr the U.S, a darling to have ! :) (Slight patina is seen on the vintage fan)

::Queen Nefertiti Necklace ::
A beautiful relic of Queen Nefertiti
* SOLD
A rare beauty hailed by many in Egypt- that is Queen Nefertiti. I first learnt of her when I took the module 'Art & History' last year. An interesting module about Baroque Art, art movements and the like but it caused the death of my academic grades I reckon.
I only have ONE of this, IMPORTED from the U.S no remakes sorry girls! I honestly don't think this has many clones in Singapore :) Pls allow for slight patina (slight aging)
Chain hand-carried back fr Germany, of excellent quality, can be adjusted collarbone length or cleavage area.
:: Vintage Movable Swing Necklace ::
* SOLD
$25 (remakes available)
Something 'bout this reminds me of an English summer with rose gardens and Cupid marbled statues..sipping tea by the porch on a white swing. Lately, lots of my jewelry inspiration come from shadows of my childhood memory :) It's a funny pill to swallow, if you know what i mean.
A vintage movable swing charm imported from the States !(yes, it actually moves) I strung it onto a gold-toned chain I hand-carried back from Germany. The quality is ultra good :) Why doesnt Singapore has such good chains tt don't ever tarnish? ): The ones that don't are uber expensive !
Lovely piece :)
P.S I have remakes for this piece. Yay! Contact me if ur interested.

Guten tag ! I know this post is rather delayed but truth is, yours truly has been swamped with work for the past 2 weeks. In retrospect, I have come to the realization, much to my chagrin, that it is impossible to get any work done when tending your own bazaar booth because of the incessant loud music as well as the crowd (which is a good thing of course) but the week after I am left slogging my butt off to be on par with my readings. The need to be on par with the readings is of utmost importance because we are graded heavily on participation and you do not want to look like a fool in your honours class.
Sales was pretty good on the first and last day of the flea but traffic was rather slow on the second day. It was my maiden attempt at setting up my own bazaar booth in NUS and I must say the profit is unprofitable, to say the least. Apart from my academic sacrifice, I was utterly sleep deprived as I struggled to digest some readings after tending the booth (which is 7pm). And I met this slightly deranged Taiwanese stalker( I say "stalker" because she called me several times and wanted to come to my house which I vehemently opposed) who came to my booth and ridiculously slashed my prices down. She also managed to sit on the nerves of other booth vendors as the lady selling Adidas shoes came running to me in exasperation. I also slashed down a lot of my prices and didn't make a huge stash of profit as I would like to (hehe) because the cost price of the materials are high and they were mainly imported fr the U.S, Japan and Germany. I know the bazaar mentality to a consumer is "let's get the best price possible" but given the context, I find it a tad saddened this constant bargaining thing makes me feel a little cheapened as a designer.
To add, labour cost is not exactly cheap, I spent time and effort coming up with the design, sourcing the materials from overseas and making the accessories ): ):
On the bright side of the coin, I did achieve my objectives because I had wanted this flea to be a promotional event of sort so as to bring awareness to my business and indefinitely, more people have come to appreciate some of my vintage accessories! I also saw the support of dear friends who came down to show their support & help tend my booth ( Elise, Xiao En, Jian En, Daniel, Bryan, Ya Wen, Ben), people who dropped by even for a minute (Stacey, Qian Ru, Jun, James), Chris Paccolat who was so nice to lend me his hall so that I needn't drag 3 bags full everyday to and fro :), and last but not least, friends who bought my accessories (Therie, Dhania, Elaine and Joy ) I was also honoured to share the booth business with my cousin's gf, PQ, who was selling clothes on the 2nd day and Fransca who was selling clothes on the last day. It was fun as we exchanged stories, share business tips and ideas (:
On the brighter side of the coin *grin*, a couple of vendors came to network with me (some to complain about the Taiwan fiasco, two vendors bought earrings fr me and one asked me if i want to consign my vintage jewelry at his push cart @ Raffles Place,
China Square Central, behind Great Eastern building)
I can hardly contain my excitement about the consignment !!! It will also be my maiden attempt at consigning RETAIL :) It will be the working crowd my jewelry is gonna be catered to, so there'll be more feminine, classy and vintage styles.
It will be during the month of December and January (you know, the hot season of Christmas & New Year) so do come down and grab pressies for your friends there ! :)
I'm so excited because this will be Her Emerald's first bazaar ! After 1.5 years, I've decided I should be confident enough to come out of my closet to do some promotional efforts. All my accessories are handmade and the materials used are also IMPORTED at the bazaar ! They include the States, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, and Istanbul ! The best part is that the bazaar is chiefly a promotional event, and thus, all my prices will be below $20!!! Yes, for ALL my imported accessories !!:):)
Together with Joanne (my biz partner in imported clothes), we will also be releasing the limited edition of clothes brought back from Shanghai. There will also be bangles imported from Hong Kong & Nanjin !!
3 whole days of fashion-fun ! Le'glass Slippers (an old friend of mine from high school) will also be there on the last day, 22nd August to showcase her imported clothes from Taipei ! So don't miss this awesome event !
*SOLD !
Regal and sweet, this deliberate asymmetrical piece is dashing in itself. I've taken a liking to wiring as you can see in my recent earrings designs. Wired onto the gold hoop are pastel pink flower imported from Madison, the States (i love how the petals seem to stretch themselves out), Moonstone beads, Opal Swarovski rhinestones & Japanese pearl. Glass teardrops hang at the bottom of each side as they catch the sunlight.
Pair this with a white top and knee-length vintage skirts and you're good to go !
* SOLD- Set A & B
* AVAILABLE!- Set C
:: Rings from the world, $17 each ::
A:
This is my maiden attempt at linking up with a supplier from Istanbul and boy, i must say I love her rings. The intricately designed antique brass ring is imported from Istanbul, Turkey while the white rose is imported from the States.( I kept the roses for a long time and now thy come in handy !) The colour contrast is great, and to add an oomph factor in, i added Swarovski blings :)
Ring is also nickel-free.
B:
All the way from Japan! Both the 14k gold-plated ring base and the cream-coloured rose are imported from Japan. Having imported several stuff from Japan, I must say that the quality is awesome every time, I've never been let down :) This ring has a feminine, vintage feel to it. Wear this for work and play !
C:
Cute, quirky and attention-grabbing, the ladybird ring is one of my favourites too. I must admit that my liking for wiring has extended to rings, not without a good reason becos the beads on the wired rings are really secured ! Made with imported red-black ladybug from the States, freshwater pearls, glass grey & red beads & retro blue beads.
:: Side-view::
*SOLD !
:: Happy 70's , $38.90 ::
Customised specially for a good friend =p I'm proud to say, I handmade the pendant myself :) and this is the first of the series of happy 70's image :) Image is imported and chosen from the States, the unique rooster ribbon is also imported, blending well with the mini red glass teardrop. Ends with 14k gold-plated heart toggle.
:: Bleu Royalty, $29 ::
A stunning piece of attention-grabber, this pair makes you a head-turner even with soft blue, white and pearl tones. Sky blue flower and turquoise Rhinestones-studded heart are imported from the States ! Wired with non-tarnish brass wires onto the hoop are Opal Swarovski crystal, Sapphire pressed crystal, Swarovski mini pearl etc. Not forgetting the Victorian teardrop pearls and gold tassle ! Very pretty, I decided to make an extra for myself :)
:: close-up of rope design rustic toggle clasp ::
:: close-up view of vintage dove charm ::
:: The key to freedom is, $42 ::
Recently, I took a liking to layered accessories and begin experimenting with them ! It turned our pretty well I must say and this necklace is the first of many to come. The pairing of the 14k gold-plated Skeleton key, the blue-white real Vintage dove charm imported from the States and gold heart charm is how the name 'key to freedom' came about. With different layers, texture and patterns of 14k-gold plated chains and rustic brown chains, the necklace ends with a rope-design rustic toggle clasp on the right side.
Perhaps I shd explain why it MAY seems a little pricey:
- 14k gold-plated chains, excellent non-tarnish quality even under moisture.
- Dove charm is a real vintage rare find from the states and there are only 2 available (1 of which am keeping for myself) . If you flip the back of the charm, you will see a little patina (that is true vintage aging)
- skeleton key is also a 14k gold-plated charm of excellent non-tarnish quality
* in fact, i normally use 14k gold-plated for gold charms :) :)
*SOLD !
:: Audrey Hepburn necklace::
Specially customised for a customer who is so sweet, he hunted down many Audrey Hepburn stuff for his special girl :P It's my last Audrey Hepburn necklace cum brooch but i decided to customise it into a necklace with matte black chains for him since he really was sincere about it :) My first Audrey hepburn necklace is in the 'archives' section, do check it out if ur interested.
Necklace is long, end below chest level.
